Who say's Matt Radlinski isn't a hopeless romantic?

Umm, but you know I'm not much better... guess who got a collection of presidential coffee mugs this year?

It's the cuddles everyday, endless support and encouragement... and the coffee he brings me in bed every morning that mean the most. I love you honey and am so glad that you are my Valentine every day.

Much Love,
K

Finally, the culmination of eight months worth of thinking, dreaming and designing.

The k Gallery is now Verve Studio.

Why? Who knows? If we had to explain it it wouldn't be worth doing.

But I hope you look at our new company and our new website and understand.

vervestudio.com

Also, notice the phone numbers in the upper right corner of the blog? Yes, one of those is for Colorado. We are pleased to announce the formation of Verve Studio West. We're in Colorado so often visiting family (Krystal) and skiing (Matt) that we might as well work there, too. So, effective immediately, no travel fees in Florida or Colorado! Colorado brides, we'll be out there soon and are excited to meet you!

Finally, not quite everything came together in time for the relaunch. Yes, we'll have new vervestudio.com email addresses in the next day or two, as soon as we get everything straightened out with Google Apps. In the meantime (and henceforth) our k-gallery.com email addresses will still work, as we'll simply forward them to the new domain. Also, we've got a custom toll free number that we'll be announcing in the next day or two as soon as it's active. In addition, you'll notice the address for the Verve Studio blog (the Verve Lounge) is still part of the k-gallery.com domain. It's going to stay that way for a few months, as the brand spanking new custom blog we've commissioned won't be ready for awhile. We figure, why make people change their subscriptions around twice?

Thank you so much to everyone who entered our contests and supported us during this transition! Check out the new portfolio and let us know what you think!!!

And the winning post (drumroll please) #117 (of 161 total). That means Gwen Waite, you have a portrait session of your choice anywhere in Gainesville and a beautiful 20x30 wall portrait coming your way! (pause for scream I'm sure I can hear coming from your direction) Give us a ring to chat about the details and to schedule your session!

much love,

Matt & Krystal

We've been so busy with weddings and our quickly approaching seminars (oh, and yet another huge new adventure we'll be unveiling soon!) that we forgot to report on the exciting stuff that happened at the Florida Professional Photographers' Convention last month!

First, I (Matt) received my Florida Degree of Photographic Excellence. This is the culmination of five years of hard work in print competition and I couldn't be more honored. It's the state-level equivalent of the Master of Photography degree I earned last year, and there have only been about 170 of these degrees awarded since the degree's inception in 1961. That's a long line of tradition I'm very proud to continue.

Also, Martina and Ryan's wedding won a Distinguished Award!

Check out a slideshow of the full album:

Thank you so much to Martina and Ryan and all our wonderful clients for making these achievement possible. We love you all!!

A wedding Haiku for my hubby:

You are the monkey
In the middle, of my heart

I was just perusing the blog site Shutter Sisters this afternoon and today's topic really hit me. There are many images and people that have touched or directed my career, style, beliefs... There were many others, especially seeing conditions in war zones and third-world nations with the military, but on this day I decided that this wasn't who I wanted to be.

No more spot news, sitting by the scanner, feeling like a vulture and filling my life with negative images. After this roll of film I never photographed another spot news story.

Now I get to choose what stories to fill my life with.

Thoughtfully,
K

Ps. as an aside, the seriously injured man was later able to use these images in his court case against the auto manufacturer whose gas tank had a faulty part allowing it to catch fire on impact. So I'm hoping karmically this shoot sort of evened out for the them.

Not pictures... silly!

Matt and I like to go to the range every so often. I really enjoyed target practice when I was in the Army so when we get the chance we like to head out to Ocala, to the firing and skeet range for a little fun.

This time Julie Fioretti & Gary Hughes, two awesome photographers from Orlando, headed out with us. For some reason the range was totally swamped and we didn't get the chance to really have a "shoot out."

But the sunset that night, on the way home, way soo Florida stellar (shot a-la-minicam in the moving Honda).

We totally need to do this again!

Cheers,
M&K

My super cute hubby!
