Jackie & Flint called us just a few weeks before their wedding day with a vision of tropical flowers and colors in the middle of winter.... umm OK! Seriously I like the cold, but just a day pretending that it's a balmy 75 and sunny sounded like heaven after this crazy winter!

And wow, did their floral artist Joan Prange deliver! How did she even find these out of season tropical blossoms on such short notice? Not only that but the skies and gardens felt willing to comply... everything was green, blooming and filled with sunshine. It was a perfect tropical wedding in the middle of winter... the perfect collaboration of nature, love and serendipity.

Then add Jackie, meeting Flint for the first time in her svelte gown, their families nearby, his sweet little tow-headed boys running around, it was a charming day.

We got this adorable "Save the Date" in the mail from Alli & Tim and had to share it with you.



A family member, who is a designer, did the artwork and put together the cute little booklet which features three chapters with goodies listed for the guests like:

Save the Date: With the address of the wedding and reception venues. Which happen to be two of our Florida favorites. The UF Baughman Center and the historic Sweetwater Branch Inn.



Save the Room: with a selection of hotels for guests to choose from

Save the Weekend: featuring activities for everyone to enjoy like the Spring Arts Festival and UF Butterfly Rainforest Exhibit

What a thoughtful little detail for their guests... and of course the photos aren't so bad either ;)

The first of five sisters, and the only son, wed under the waning light of winter and the "Wedding Oak" at Kanapha Botanical Gardens.

Nancy and Anthony chose to have a wedding with a eco-friendly focus by using almost all local vendors, low-impact decor and by including evergreen tree favors that guests could go home and plant to enjoy and remember for a lifetime.

I do so love a man with curls... and a girl with cheeks just like me. I feel ya sister! But the joke is on them, I swear they make you look younger longer!!

I do so love a girl willing to bushwhack into the Florida jungle in a wedding gown to get a great photo!
It was worth every bit of guerilla landscaping when we all saw the setting sun coming through the canopy of century oaks and kudzu vines.

Ashley and her man Noe were a joy to photograph! They were up to try anything (including scaling a rock face in heels!) and their chemistry was simply face melting.

It's not every day that we get to photograph ballerinas and astronomers... and well downright improbable that we get a bride who is both!

I kept waiting for toe shoes to peep out from under her dress! And we certainly weren't surprised to find stars hanging at their reception and on their wedding cake. It was a charming tip of the hat to their love of starry skies and cloudless climbs.

Even "yellow bear" Joanna's very first toy and loyal companion made it to the event. The shot of him with their custom designed rings is one of my quirky favorites from the day.

And later in the evening they shared another love, in honor of Joanna's Belgium heritage, and their mutual appreciation of BEER! Lots of lovely belgium brews and chocolates were on each table and Lambic Framboise and ice-cream floats were served to all their guests as a surprise after-dinner treat. YUM! Personal touches like that are always so wonderful.

Well overdue, here is the full blog post from Erin & Blair's wedding day!

Filled with southern charm and hospitality, their wedding was the epitome of Hilton Head style. Even down to the charming red trolley car that whisked the family and bridal party around, the scenic lighthouse, navy and hemp rope detailing at each setting, red rocking chairs and even a candy bar laden with Mrs. Prindables apples. I'm sure half of them never made it home :)

And most charming of all, was simply you two. Thank you for including us and for introducing us to your wonderful friends and family. I think from now on, I will laugh and think of Blair every time I see a pair of old-school running shorty-shorts! A classic toast by your sisters indeed Erin!

We look forward to making a beautiful book from your story.
