Looking for new K-pop groups? Meet six acts that officially debuted in 2026, from ALPHA DRIVE ONE to A2O LITE, with debut songs, labels and the story of how each one launched. Updated October 2026.

If you searched for new K-pop groups this year, you probably hit a wall of names. Fair enough. Dozens of acts debuted in 2026, and a full database is useful when you already know who you’re looking for. This is the shorter version. As of late October 2026, here are six groups that made their official debut this year, three from the first half and three from the second. I picked each one because the way it debuted says something real about how K-pop works right now.

One quick note before we start. A lot of “2026 rookie” lists still lead with CORTIS or Hearts2Hearts. I love both, but they debuted in 2025. Every group below released its official debut between January and October 2026.

Six New K-pop Groups to Know in 2026

ALPHA DRIVE ONE (ALD1)

Group: ALPHA DRIVE ONE (WAKEONE)

Debut Date: January 12, 2026

ALD1 Members: 8

Debut Song: “FREAK ALARM,” from the EP EUPHORIA

Music Style: Hip-hop dance built on a heavy beat and a hook made for a crowd. The EP also reworks songs the members first performed on their audition show.

Why You Should Know Them: ALD1 is the clearest example this year of a group the audience helped build. The lineup came out of Mnet’s Boys II Planet, and those viewers showed up on day one. EUPHORIA sold 1,441,270 copies in its first week on Korea’s Hanteo sales chart.

LNGSHOT

Group: LNGSHOT (MORE VISION)

Debut Date: January 13, 2026

LNGSHOT Members: 4

Debut Song: “Moonwalkin’,” from the EP SHOT CALLERS

Music Style: Hip-hop and R&B with a pop finish, and the members hold writing credits across the EP.

Why You Should Know Them: This is the first boy group from Jay Park’s label, and it feels like it. Instead of hiding the trainees until a polished reveal, the label let fans watch them work, with a YouTube mixtape and the pre-debut track “Saucin’,” which they performed at the 2025 Melon Music Awards weeks before their official debut.

H//PE Princess

Group: H//PE Princess (Chapter-I, co-managed with Amoeba Culture)

Debut Date: May 27, 2026

H//PE Princess Members: 7

Debut Song: “Stolen,” title track of the mini album 17.7 (released early, on April 29)

Music Style: Hip-hop first, pop second. Gaeko of Dynamic Duo produced the title track.

Why You Should Know Them: They’re a Korean-Japanese group formed on Mnet’s Unpretty Rapstar: Hip Pop Princess, and they were planned from the start to debut in both countries. My favorite detail: the album title 17.7 is the members’ average age. Warner Music also signed them to a global deal months before their official debut.

Splayit

Group: Splayit (LM Entertainment, with Kakao Entertainment on production)

Debut Date: August 13, 2026

Splayit Members: 5 (vocals, drums, keys, guitar and bass)

Debut Song: “Last Train” (막차, makcha), from SPLAY : CHAPTER 01

Music Style: Bright, guitar-forward band rock. Singer-songwriter Lee Mu-jin produced the title track.

Why You Should Know Them: Not every new K-pop act is a dance group. Splayit came together as the “School Band” team on Mnet’s band survival show Steel Heart Club, and viewers kept asking for that exact five-piece to debut. They didn’t win the show. They debuted anyway, and that is a very fan-powered story.

OURBIRTHDAY

Group: OURBIRTHDAY (INNIT Entertainment, a JYP Entertainment subsidiary)

Debut Date: August 19, 2026

OURBIRTHDAY Members: 7

Debut Song: “SQUEEZY,” from the single album Our Birthday

Music Style: The label calls it “whip-hop,” hip-hop mixed freely with each member’s personality. “SQUEEZY” itself is funk-based dance pop.

Why You Should Know Them: They’re the first JYP-affiliated girl group since NMIXX in 2022. Their rollout was also one of the most unusual of the year. Three members released “HUNGRY (Side A)” on July 22, the other four followed with “Side B,” and only then did all seven debut together.

A2O LITE

Group: A2O LITE (A2O Entertainment)

Debut Date: October 13, 2026

A2O LITE Members: 9

Debut Song: “NEON”

Music Style: A heavy, resonant bass line under a hook that loops until it lives in your head.

Why You Should Know Them: A2O Entertainment is the company SM Entertainment founder Lee Soo-man started after leaving SM, and A2O LITE is part of its first launch aimed at the Korean market. Longtime SM producer Yoo Young-jin worked on the music. The members come from Korea, China, Japan, Thailand and the United States.

Which Rookie Groups Are Getting Attention?

The numbers belong to ALD1 so far. EUPHORIA’s first week was the second-biggest for any K-pop group’s debut album, behind only ZEROBASEONE. “FREAK ALARM” also took first place on all three major network music shows, the first boy group to do that with a debut song in about nine years, and it collected four trophies in total.

A2O LITE made the fastest start of the second half. “NEON” reached No. 1 on Melon’s Top 100 chart roughly a day after release.

Here’s the thing, though. Album sales and music show wins measure different things, and streaming peaks measure something else again. A group formed on a survival show arrives with a fandom that has already been voting for them for months. A band like Splayit builds its audience at live stages. OURBIRTHDAY and Splayit are only a couple of months in, which is honestly too early to call anything. I would rather point you to the music than pretend there is one ranking that settles it.

How Does a K-pop Group Debut?

Most groups start as trainees, signed to a company that funds years of vocal and dance lessons before anyone knows their names. From there, the paths split.

Half of this list came out of TV audition shows. ALD1 and H//PE Princess were chosen through Mnet programs, and so was Splayit, which means fans had watched them compete before they ever had a group name. The other half were assembled inside a company and revealed on the label’s own schedule.

The rollout usually follows a pattern: teaser videos, concept photos, often a pre-release single, then a debut showcase where the group performs for press and fans. ALD1 released “FORMULA” about six weeks before their EP. OURBIRTHDAY split their pre-release between two units. Showcases happen in places like Blue Square in Seoul, where both ALD1 and OURBIRTHDAY held theirs.

Not every group follows the full script, though. A2O LITE’s lineup was revealed on October 8, just five days before their debut, with a joint showcase alongside A2O SOUL, a 15-member boy group from the same company.

And announced dates move. YG Entertainment said its new boy group would debut in September 2026, but as of mid-October it still had no confirmed date. That’s why this list only includes groups that have actually debuted.

What Happens After Debut?

Week one is music shows. ALD1 went straight through M Countdown, Music Bank, Show! Music Core and Inkigayo in their first week, and they took their first-ever win on Show Champion on January 21.

After that come fansigns, where fans meet members one by one, and eventually the first comeback. ALD1 returned with the EP UNBREAKABLE on August 24, seven months after debut. Some groups go overseas fast, too. ALD1 held a Tokyo showcase in March before officially promoting in Japan.

Smaller live content matters as well. Splayit performed “Last Train” for 1theK’s Outdoor Recording Studio at a bus stop after the last bus had gone, which is about as on-concept as it gets.

Where to Start Listening

Start with whichever sound you already love. Each group’s official music video is on its official YouTube channel.

If you love big, synchronized performances, start with ALD1’s “FREAK ALARM.”

For smooth R&B with a hip-hop edge, play LNGSHOT’s “Moonwalkin’.”

Want real rap verses? H//PE Princess, “Stolen.”

Guitars over choreography: Splayit’s “Last Train.”

OURBIRTHDAY’s “SQUEEZY” is for anyone who likes funk and a playful hook.

And if you want one bass line stuck in your head all week, A2O LITE’s “NEON.”

Find Your Next Favorite K-pop Group

Six groups is only a starting point. YUHZ, UNCHILD, And2ble and the band hrtz.wav also debuted this year, and the year isn’t over yet. That’s the fun part of following K-pop in real time. You get to hear a group at the very beginning, before anyone knows how the story goes.

Pick one song from this list tonight. Just one. If it sticks, the rest of the discography is waiting.
