1. Warm Ocean Soak: Unwinding by the Sea 🌊

If you enjoy K-Beauty skincare, there is another traditional wellness ritual you might love to try: Seshin. During a recent trip to Busan, I had the opportunity to experience this full-body exfoliation, and it was truly remarkable. The experience begins in warm mineral pools set against large windows overlooking the ocean. Watching the gentle waves while relaxing in the bath prepares your body and mind perfectly for what comes next.

(Pro tip: If you'd like to look up more videos beforehand, I highly recommend searching "Korean body scrub" on social media!)

2. The Seshin Experience: Deep Renewal & Refreshment ✨

After soaking, a skilled practitioner (Ajumma) guides you through the full-body scrub using a textured exfoliating glove, often known as an Italian towel. While the technique is firm and thorough, it is incredibly effective at lifting away dull, dead skin cells. By the time it was finished, I felt completely light, revitalized, and refreshed from head to toe.

(Little secret between us: You can easily pick up these iconic scrub towels at any local traditional market!)

3. The Lounge Ritual: Simple Comforts & Coastal Views 🥚

To complete the visit, it is custom to relax in the communal lounge area. I highly recommend trying a bottle of chilled Sikhye (a traditional sweet rice drink) along with warm roasted eggs. Resting on the heated floor while enjoying the coastal sunset was the perfect conclusion to a thoroughly restorative day. If you are planning a trip to Korea, this is a wellness experience well worth adding to your itinerary.
