Think crystal blue skies, a refreshing breeze, and that perfect, crisp sunshine. Naturally, I took advantage of this beautiful day to head to Olive Young for some serious "beauty recon."
For those following K-beauty, there’s been a huge shift lately. The old "Road Shops" like Innisfree or Etude House have mostly vanished from the streets. Now, Olive Young is the undisputed king—the place you go to get the real facts on what’s trending.
I went in specifically to gather information on new products, but I was greeted by a total Pokémon takeover! Even with the store being relatively chill, the energy was there.

I was particularly curious about one super-hot ingredient that’s been everywhere lately: PDRN. PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) is the talk of the town here—it's a powerful skin-regenerating ingredient often derived from salmon DNA.
Since I’ve been so interested in it lately, I made it my goal to test every single PDRN product available in the store just to see what the hype is about.

The best part of Olive Young isn't just the shopping; it’s the unlimited testing. You can swipe every lipstick and blend every serum until you find "the one." Yesterday, I was on a mission to gather intel on the hottest ingredient in Seoul right now: PDRN.
PDRN is the talk of the town for its powerful skin-regenerating properties. I spent my time feeling the textures and seeing how my skin reacted to every single PDRN product on the shelves. It’s amazing how accessible high-tech skincare has become in these open playgrounds.
Most people think PDRN is just about salmon DNA. But while scouting through the testers, I discovered something huge. There are different types and sources of PDRN emerging in the K-beauty scene that go way beyond the classic salmon-derived version.
I’ve gathered so much data from my "testing playground" session that I need a whole separate post just to break it down.
Stay tuned for my next post, where I’ll spill the tea on the PDRN evolution
