A Perfect Day for a Pokémon Beauty Quest!

Think crystal blue skies, a refreshing breeze, and that perfect, crisp sunshine. Naturally, I took advantage of this beautiful day to head to Olive Young for some serious "beauty recon."

For those following K-beauty, there’s been a huge shift lately. The old "Road Shops" like Innisfree or Etude House have mostly vanished from the streets. Now, Olive Young is the undisputed king—the place you go to get the real facts on what’s trending.

Scouting for Trends (with Pokémon!)

I went in specifically to gather information on new products, but I was greeted by a total Pokémon takeover! Even with the store being relatively chill, the energy was there.

The Vibe: It’s a total community hub. I saw students huddled over the latest color drops and young men focused on the Men's Care section doing their homework on the best skincare formulas. In Korea, everyone is a student of beauty!
The Catch: Since I was scouting for info, the Pokémon collab made the process so much fun. Checking out the "Evolution" of hydration lines like Dr.G with Squirtle or the health-focused vitamins with Pikachu felt like a game.

I was particularly curious about one super-hot ingredient that’s been everywhere lately: PDRN. PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide) is the talk of the town here—it's a powerful skin-regenerating ingredient often derived from salmon DNA.

Since I’ve been so interested in it lately, I made it my goal to test every single PDRN product available in the store just to see what the hype is about.
