Yeosu is Better at Night

To be honest, the real Yeosu starts exactly when the sun goes down. It's the kind of vibe that makes you hum the "Yeosu Night Sea" song without even realizing it.

A slow stroll by the shore

Most people start their first day at Yi Sun-shin Square. Right by the water, you’ll see this massive, legendary Turtle Ship.

It has this heavy, historic presence—you can almost feel the intensity and the grit of the past. Go inside, touch the wood, and take a peek into the old days. It’s the perfect spot to just breathe and start your day slow.

A little sweetness on the side

On your way to the square, you’ll see sweetness lined up. If you spot a long line in front of a shop, that’s Yeosudang.

You absolutely have to try the Mugwort Choco Pie. The unique scent of mugwort mixed with that sweet charm stays on your mind forever. It’s not just a snack; it’s like a little piece of the island’s soul in a box. People buy stacks of them to take home, but nothing beats eating one right then and there.

And let’s be real, you can’t skip the ice cream. One in each hand—that’s how the locals do it.

Simple, honest comfort food

When you get hungry, don't go looking for anything too fancy. Just find a place serving Grilled Fish.

There’s something so comforting about a table filled with small, neatly arranged plates. The fish is crispy, the soup is warm, and of course, there’s the Gat-kimchi. It’s got that sharp, zingy punch that you can only find in Yeosu. It feels like a hearty, home-cooked meal that truly fills you up.

The heart of the night: Samhap

As it gets dark, follow the lights to the bridge. This is where the Dolmunyeo Samhap is waiting for you.

Imagine a big pan loaded with octopus, pork belly, shrimp, abalone, and that signature Gat-kimchi. It’s a literal feast of everything the sea has to offer us.

When it starts sizzling with that red sauce, everything else just fades away. Wrap a bit of everything in a piece of kimchi, take a cold sip of beer, and suddenly, you’ll totally get what "Yeosu Night Sea" is all about.

Fireworks and the quiet bridge

Hopping on the Minam Cruise is the moment you truly experience the romance of this city.

The boat glides over the dark water, which perfectly reflects all the surrounding lights like a mirror.

The sky festival begins. It’s exciting, bright, and breathtakingly beautiful. As the smoke clears and you see the Dolsan Bridge glowing in the distance, you realize why we keep coming back here.

The night ends with a quiet walk across the bridge. The lights reflect on the water, the air is cool, and you just feel... at peace. This is the Yeosu I wanted to show you. Simple, warm, and beautiful.
