A ‘Ramen Wonderland’ in Seoul Forest?

A Shin Ramyun Theme Garden Is Expected for the 2026 Seoul International Garden Expo

Ever wondered what it would feel like to step inside a giant bowl of ramen?

Starting in Spring 2026, a walk through Seoul Forest could turn into something a little more unexpected. A large-scale theme garden inspired by Shin Ramyun — one of Korea’s most widely recognized instant noodle brands — is expected to debut as part of the 2026 Seoul International Garden Expo.

Rather than a typical brand showcase, the space is being planned as an immersive landscape that reimagines the ramen-making process. If completed as envisioned, it could easily become one of the most Instagram-worthy spots in the park.

A Ramen-Themed Garden in the Heart of Seoul

The proposed “Shin Ramyun Theme Garden” is expected to span approximately 1,428 square meters (around 15,370 sq ft) within Seoul Forest, one of the city’s most popular urban parks.

The 2026 Seoul International Garden Expo is scheduled to run from May 1 through October 27, 2026, and this installation is planned as part of the event’s K-culture zone.

Centered around the theme “Spicy Happiness in Noodles,” the garden aims to translate the brand’s identity into a physical, walkable experience set within nature.

A Garden That Tells the Story of Ramen

One of the most interesting aspects of the project is how it draws inspiration from the ramen cooking process itself.

Visitors would likely begin their walk along winding paths designed to resemble the signature curly shape of ramen noodles. Along the way, sculptural elements and planting designs are expected to reflect the textures and colors associated with ramen ingredients.

Another playful feature being planned is the use of bubble-inspired installations, referencing the boiling stage of cooking. These may include water features, transparent spheres, and interactive elements designed to mimic the look and movement of simmering broth.

The brand’s signature red color is also expected to appear throughout the space, subtly integrated into structures and landscape details to tie everything together.

The Highlight: A Giant Ramen Bowl Pavilion

At the center of the garden, the most eye-catching feature is expected to be a pavilion modeled after a giant bowl of ramen.

If realized as planned, visitors would be able to step inside the structure and look up at a ceiling installation made of suspended, noodle-like forms. Combined with mist effects and bubble-like elements, the space is designed to create the illusion of being inside a steaming bowl of ramen.

It’s likely to become a major photo spot within the park.
